Used in laser optical systems, GGG is used in tunable bandpass filters on magnetostatic waves;
especially widely used in magnetooptic and microelectronic engineering as substrates for magnetic garnet films in storage devices based on the movable cylindrical domains and high–temperature superconductors. GGG can also be used as a seed substrate for the growth of other garnets such as YIG.
